Science: Leopard Skin Jasper is a rhyolite-based volcanic stone. Silica-rich lava flows cool and crystallize, trapping orbicular patterns of contrasting minerals. The spots form as feldspar, quartz, and iron oxides settle into circular masses during cooling.

Special Notes: While this stone has jasper in the name it is a RHYOLITE. While it is suitable for some jewelry it’s good to know this stone is best used for occasional wear.
